Basic Interaction Principles

An object I love is my lightbulb in my room. It is one of my favourite things in my room because of how it looks and because you can touch the spikes when it is on. It also keeps my siblings entertained since they like to stretch the spikes.

Visibility & Feedback – when the light is on it changes colour and the spikes glow

Affordances – because of the material that the spikes are made of, looking at it you can tell that it doesn’t heat up and that you are meant to be able to pull and stretch the spikes.

Mapping – the lamp stand only has one knob so you know turning it will only affect the light bulb and whether it is on or off

Constraints- The light that it gives off is not very strong so it can’t really be used to see with, it is more of a decoration.
