Jenn Duong's Basic Interation Design Principles exercise
Visibility
- Visibility of this can opener is bad for users within my, and future generations, because of its shape and design. There is a small but unclear resemblance to our current ideal can openers. This can opener has three functions, can puncture, can opener and bottle opener, for users that have never seen these components before there are no visuals to help indicate how to efficiently use this tool.
Feedback
- My can opener gives bad feedback because it was never really sharp, and is now rusted.
- The can puncture tools is no longer used anymore but the bottle opener still serves its purpose and has good feed back when used.
Affordances
- This can opener is terrible in terms of affordances, it has no padding or grip for where the hand is to clasp the tool.
- The can opener does not afford a left handed person’s hand.
- The tool hurts when used.
Physical Constraints
- Tool is not meant for people with weak grip, possible sweaty hands, and is not designed for left handed people.
Habituation
- If a user gets the hang of my can opener they can use it without thinking about they system.
