Jenny Duong's Good Continuation

Good Continuation

- Good continuation is one of several principles referred to as Gestalt principles of perception.

- Elements are perceived as a single group, and interpreted as being more related then unaligned elements.

- When sections of shapes are hidden from view, good continuations leads the eye to continue along the visible segments

- All elements must be placed along a line be it curvy or straight

- Use good continuation to idicate relatedness between elements in a design

This picture is an example of good continuation, everyone is percieved as joining together to become a line.

Words placed in one line is percived to be related, and is read as a whole sentence is another example of good continuation.
