Lisa MacDonald - Project 1 Part A

Visibility
The lever to turn off the alarm is tiny and hard to notice.

Mapping
The knobs are all located on the back. Not one of the knobs on the back indicates what it controls in regards to the clock.

Feedback
The controls on the back do not provide proper feedback to indicate what is happening when they are turned.

Affordances
The supposed affordances of the knobs on the back of the clock are very small and painful to use. There is a possible volume lever that is located in the back of the clock, but it is not possible to change manually. This lever although there, does not appear to control anything at all.

Physical Constraints
The physical constraints of this clock would be the way that the knobs do not go any further than they are supposed to turn.

Habituation
So far there has been no habitual use of this clock. The user must relearn to set it with every use. Not to mention the fact that the clock stops working after about six hours no matter how much you wind it.

General Efficiency
Overall this clock is not a sufficient alarm clock. The clock is terrible to wake up to, it is as if someone came into your bedroom and started throwing pots and pans into a metal trashcan located right by your head.
